Since 2010, SDI has implemented an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System.

Our “planting record”

In 2023, we contributed to planting 900 trees in Honduras, Nepal, Tanzania, Colombia, Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, and Cameroon, resulting in a total of 179,050 kg of CO2 absorbed in the first 10 years of the trees’ life. A great achievement made possible thanks to the synergy between our company, partners, collaborators, and the local community.

The Carbon Footprint Project

There are still few companies of SDI’s size that measure their carbon footprint, i.e., the tons of equivalent CO2 determined by business activities as a whole (both upstream and downstream of SDI’s locations), starting from the CO2 resulting from the production of materials to the disposal of the product by the customer once it reaches the end of its life. This analysis allows for the development of more targeted emission reduction strategies.

Our Supply Chain is not zero-kilometer, but… almost

We mainly purchase materials from Italian suppliers (80% national), mostly located in Northern Italy. This is also a way to limit emissions caused by the transportation of goods.
