eXPert HIPPS

eXPert HIPPS is SDI’s high-integrity solution for overpressure protection, developed to ensure maximum reliability in high-risk Oil & Gas, energy, and industrial processes.

Designed in compliance with international functional safety standards (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511), the system represents a key element in the proactive management of plant safety.

Fully integrated into the eXPert Ecosystem, the system combines:

  • Redundant pressure sensors, configurable with 2oo3 logic

  • A SIL 3–certified Logic Solver, which analyzes operating conditions in real time

  • A fast-acting pneumatic panel, which actuates shut-off valves to isolate the process within milliseconds

This architecture enables eXPert HIPPS to intervene immediately and precisely before hazardous situations occur, preventing pressure from exceeding allowable limits and avoiding critical scenarios such as uncontrolled fluid release or flare system activation.

The solution is fully scalable and modular: it can be supplied either as a standalone system or as an integral part of an existing eXPert infrastructure, offering maximum flexibility.
