When we think about innovation in industrial automation field, we like to do it big! That’s why we are proud once again to be partner of Enel Green Power in the ambitious project of creating a new technological infrastructure for Renewables Energy Hydro Italy division, for which Sdi will realize the Country Control Rooms.
The challenge consists in the connection of more than 500 hydro plants and 1500 peripheral devices to the three control rooms located in the north, center and south of Italy, to realize an efficient remote control and management system. Thanks to the extreme reliability of our eXPert SCADA technology, each control center will be provided with a geographically delocalized Disaster Recovery architecture.
From a technical point of view, the infrastructure represents the highest level of security and reliability available today for remote control systems, and includes:
- 3 eXPert SCADA systems + Disaster Recovery in hot-backup configuration
- IT architecture based on Virtual Machine
- Centralized and unified configurator for main and DR centers
- GIS system integration
- High Performance HMI Interface
- Communication managed by IEC60870-5-104 protocol with IEC 62351 Cyber Security profile
The powerful and flexible platform by Sdi will allow data acquisition from a huge number of plants and field devices of different vendors and technologies, thus ensuring a common interface capable of efficiently monitor and manage each of the over 12 GW of Enel hydro power installed capacity in Italy.
